I’m a Scotland-based outdoors lover using my background in math and science to build a nature-based low-impact freelance lifestyle in the northwest Highlands.
I’ve been a freelancer in various capacities for the last 15 years. I’m currently focused on building Writer's Residence, a SaaS that helps writers use technology to market their careers (and happens to be the tool I used to create this website). It’s something I’m passionate about because I’ve been there myself, and I know that my technical skills in building a compelling online portfolio was crucial in securing those early writing gigs. I also know not all writers have those skills, so I’ve created Writer’s Residence to fill that gap affordably and easily. We’re now a growing community of copywriters, freelance writers, authors, journalists, ghost writers, and more.
Writers can also get involved as affiliates. Help other writers, earn a commission. Sounds like a good deal to me!
Writer’s Residence was built off the back of my own freelance writing career. I’m increasingly interested in self publishing options for freelance writers and have been exploring these possibilities through my website Eat Sleep Wild and monetised email marketing through Substack. Check out:

Proceeds from my projects are currently being used to fund my dream job as outdoor adventure host and communicator here in Scotland.
